ABOUT ME

I'm Eric Newgard, a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in the Greater Seattle area. With a background that spans special effects, ecommerce, and immersive storytelling, my work lives at the intersection of digital and physical craft. Since 2012, I’ve founded and led two creative businesses—Impact Props and Aurum Effects—where I honed my skills in creative direction, ecommerce strategy, and audience engagement. Impact Props grew to over 1.5 million YouTube subscribers, while Aurum Effects embedded me within the gaming industry to support the launch of titles such as Beyond Light, The Witch Queen, and The Final Shape. My capabilities encompass 3D design, fabrication, photography, visual design, and video—each guided by a strong understanding of how to connect fans with the stories and universes they love. Along the way, I’ve also developed a deep fluency in marketing and social media, both through my independent work and from leading social strategy and marketing for Bungie Store.

I currently work at Bungie—creators of Halo, Destiny, and Marathon—where I support the Publishing and Consumer Products teams in delivering impactful, player-focused assets while continuing to evolve my craft through hands-on collaboration and cross-functional creative work.

PROJECTS

In addition to the headline Destiny 2 expansions released since 2020, I’ve had the privilege of working on all of the seasonal updates to Destiny 2 as well as the Bungie Store exclusive Destiny 2 Collector’s Editions. As a Multimedia Artist I worked directly with our Art Leads, Tech Artists, and vendors to design and prototype the hero items featured in the Collector’s Editions. As a Senior Visual Designer I collaborate with the Consumer Products and Publishing teams to create and publish assets that are enjoyed by millions of players globally.
